Le Real Madrid a déboursé près de 30 millions d’euros pour s’attacher les services d’Isco, considéré en Espagne comme le grand espoir du pays. Pour le même prix, le club madrilène s’est offert sans le savoir… Messi. Présenté mercredi officiellement par les Merengue, l’ancien milieu dribbleur de Malaga, qui emménagera prochainement à Madrid, fera en effet le déplacement avec dans ses valises son fidèle compagnon, un chien auquel Isco a donné le nom du quadruple ballon d’or. « J'ai appelé mon chien Messi car Messi est le meilleur au Monde, comme mon chien », a révélé le nouveau joueur du Real Madrid dans la presse espagnole en marge de son transfert. Concernant son choix, Isco a expliqué qu’il avait la possibilité de rejoindre Manchester City mais qu’il avait toujours rêvé de défendre un jour les couleurs du Real. « J'ai eu beaucoup d'offres en Europe, mais j'ai toujours voulu jouer à Madrid. Pellegrini (ndlr : son entraîneur à Malaga) voulait m'emmener à City, mais quand j'ai vu que Madrid me voulait aussi, je n'ai pas hésité. C'est le plus grand club du Monde et cela ne se refuse pas ». C’est donc au Real et non chez les Citizens que Messi va poursuivre son parcours.

MADRID: Real Madrid have agreed to buy Malaga’s highly-rated Spain under-21 playmaker Isco on a five-year contract, their first signing since the arrival of new coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who was also a target for English Premier League club Manchester City, was presented at the Bernabeu stadium yesterday.
Malaga-born Isco helped the south-coast club to the Champions League quarter-finals last season and caught the eye with a series of scintillating performances at this month’s under-21 European Championship in Israel.
He scored a penalty in Spain’s 4-2 victory over Italy in the final and was voted player of the tournament.
Italian Ancelotti took the reins at Real on Wednesday, replacing Portuguese Jose Mourinho who returned to former club Chelsea after failing to win major silverware last season.

The Italian coach hailed the youngster’s ability when he was formally presented.
“I can only speak about his quality,” said Ancelotti. “He is very good, the Spanish under-21 team has great players and he is the one with the most talent. Isco could play in any team.”
Isco, who typically plays as a roving attacking midfielder and is on the fringes of the senior Spain squad, will compete for a place in the Real side with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Kaka and Luka Modric.

 Barcelona-based paper El Mundo Deportivo got up to a bit of mischief this week by revealing that  Real Madrid’s new signing Isco has a few skeletons in the closet.
Put simply, Isco is a lifelong Barça fan, and moreover, antimadridista in philosophy.
An interview he did while still playing for Valencia B after the U17 World Cup in 2009 proves it on record, when he said
”I’ve always been a bit antimadridista and I still am. I have the feeling it’s an arrogant club, and without humility you don’t get anywhere.’‘
And as recently as October 2012, Isco told El Cuatro that the players he most looked up to are Xavi, Iniesta, and Ronaldinho.
Isco also showed his support for Barça in the 2011 Champions League final with a subversive tweet, making reference to Jose Mourinho’s infamous ‘Por Qué?’ rant after Madrid were knocked out in the semi-finals by Barça.
